MIAMI TWP. - Public money paid for beer for some VIPs at the annual music festival staged by this Clermont County community. Miami Township issued checks totaling $3,892 to reimburse a vendor for beer served to sponsors of the last five festivals, records show.
The total cost of putting on last year's festival was $222,634, according to records. The net cost to the township for last year's festival - after factoring in corporate sponsorship and other income - was $124,588.

OWENSVILLE - The Clermont County Soil and Water Conservation District is holding its annual sale of groundcover plants and tree seedlings. Orders can be placed through April 10, with pickup April 18 at the Fairgrounds, 1000 Locust St. Plant sizes range from 8 inches to 4 feet. Bird houses, rain barrels and compost bins are also being sold. Descriptions of items, prices and an order form are available at www.ClermontSWCD.org.

Is there any chance that Clermont County is considering the same type of summit? Is it also time to give consideration to thinking outside the county boundary, as in MetroGov? Maybe it's time to put territoriality on the back burner and trumpet cost savings and efficiencies.
